    6th Conference of African First Ladies’ Peace Mission MINPROFF at SIARC

    The 6th conference of African First Ladies on Peace Mission held in Brazzaville on 14 and 15 February 2008, in the International Conference Hall of the Palais du Parlement, under the chairmanship of the Mission's outgoing President, Mrs Antoinette SASSOU NGUESSO. Placed under the very distinguished patronage of His Excellence Mr.Denis SASOU NGUESSO President of the Republic, Head of State,represented by his Prime Minister, Mr.Isidore MVOUBA, the opening ceremony was marked by seventeen speeches, all of which underscored the importance of the stakes of the conference.     Revamping Women’s Empowerment and Family Centers
    WEFC are Specialised Technical Units of MINPROFF in charge of the non formal educative and training of women their social, economic, cultural and professional empowerment. Apart from dwelling on responsable parenthood are braving women's initiation to enterpreneurship, learning of promising trades to ease their insertion into professional milieus, signing of partnerships with other socio-professional settings, -assisting women in the management of associations, encourageing self-employement, placing young girls in formal education cycles. Roughly, as Minister Suzanne BOMBACk, stated during the Kribi seminar on the revamping of WEFCs, WEFCs should enable urban and rural women acquire new skills, new behaviours, new attitudes that would make them become autonomous, motivated, responsible and concerned about their well-being.(Read)

    New offensive against cohabitation: Joint celebration of marriages

    Minproff has organised a joint marriage celebration for 144 couples in Douala

    They had waited this occasion for long. 17 years of shared life, rich and prosperous with a set of twins. There was need to, once and for all, make this union official, a union that had already been blessed by both families. Jacques and Esther NGUENANG were radiant with joy last Saturday at the government square in Douala. This couple that hails from Nkongsamba in the Moungo Division was officially united by Madam Suzanne Mbomback, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Family (Minproff), alongside 143 other couples from the four Divisions of the Littoral Region.
